I have used the 1.5's a lot more and that is why I selected them. However, I am having great success with the 1.9's since April and will continue to use them. The bigger ones are getting hit a lot harder also.

I get the most use out of the 1.5. I use the 1.5 and 1.9 when the water warms up. The 1.1 is a killer in the spring and fall.

Default Bug Hatch

I like the 0.8 during the bug hatch , but the 1.1 in gold sparkle has been my best especially on the high line

The 0.8 Smile Blade is our definite all around, as we tie it on every one of our crankbaits. We described how to do this in the Pro Staff Tips on the web page. If anyone wants the directions we would gladly email them to you. The 1.1 and 1.5 and used on crawler harness' using a Stop Knot so they can be moved up and down the line, depending on the action needed for the day. Smile blades keep us smiling! Team Ayres

The 1.1 smile blade has been very consistent for several years in a row. Silver sparkle with blue bead stack or blue scale with silver bead stack to imitate trout patterns. Gold sparkle with green beads or green scale or sparkle with yellow beads for perch patterns.

Default Smile Blade sizes

I use 1.1's and the .8's for most of my fishing which is predominately Trout/Kokanee fishing. For the Sthd/Salmon fishing I use the 1.9's and the new 2.8's. For the Walleye fishng that I do out here in the PNW I will almost always go to the 1.1's. My number 1 size all around would be the 1.1

Default Try em all

I would have to say that the 1.1 to 1.5 would be the workhorse on most waters at most times for walleyes-but it always pays to experiment even when you are on active fish. Great way to build confidence using different sizes and setups. I personally prefer the .8 most days in a configuration that will be highlighted in an upcoming article on attractors for walleyes in the June/July issue of In-Fisherman. Check it out and I look forward to feedback on this as the setup is the most deadly I have ever come accross for fish that refuse to respond to anything else and is just as good or better when they are aggressive. Ideas as to further tweak this are always welcome.

The 1.9 blades in late summer/early fall are probably the best bait out there when trolled behind bouncers on a crawler harness.Last year we cashed some big cheques using this in the late summer. This is the combo that helped us win team of the year on the Northern Alberta Walleye Trail last year. But in the spring I like to use the .08 blades on a lindy rig with a #6 hook and a large leech(deadly). So if I had to pick I really need both of these but thwe 1.9 would be the one.

I have caught several big fish on the 1.1 and have more hits with it too. Caught 4 over 12 pounds in one day. Once in a while I will go to the 1.5 and if I am using finesse rigs I use the 0.8.
